Relationship Building
It’s been said that relationships are built one bridge at a time. When two people desire to connect, over time, trust is built through different shared life experiences. This is how life relationships are established. The journey can be long, exciting, bumpy and challenging. But if the two sides are committed to the Journey together, then it will stand the test of time.
Our relationship with God is the same, in many ways. There are obvious differences as you begin, but the connection within shared life experiences is the same. That’s what draws us toward the intimate relationship we both desire.
God Reveals Himself to Mankind
God has revealed Himself in many ways to Mankind, Male and Female, since the very beginning at Creation. The three most understood ways are General, Specific and
General Revelation: How God reveals who He is through His creative work. It is “general” in nature as it shows the works of God, but does not reveal anything of God’s character, personality or substance. As the Creator of all things including Mankind, we can be in awe of the creative power that brought not only this world into being, but everything contained in it. That includes the Heavens and all the Galaxies too. Everything that lives and breathes, He preserves and sustains to this day.
Special Revelation: Speaks to Who God really is, His Character, His Personality, and His heart. Through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Presence of God, He wrote His Word, the Bible, so that Mankind would be able to know Him, their Creator, personally. From Genesis to Revelation, we can see the plan of God, our Creator, unfold before us. His Mind, Heart and purpose for His creation are fully realized as you see personally His Desires and Heart. Knowing Him more intimately helps us understand the reasons and motives behind the General Revelation of life for us to know and understand.
It’s an amazing journey as God leads you through the accounts of scripture; sifting through timelines, maps, and cultural clues to sense God’s heartbeat and purpose for His people, Israel. It is important for us to know and understand the “how” and “why” of God’s heart motives for our good. We invite you to join us on the journey. You’ll find that as the Holy Spirit begins to touch your heart by what you are seeing and discovering, that God’s heart will begin to transform your heart and mind in ways you’ve never thought possible!
You will begin to understand the attributes and character traits that He embodies, are in fact the same character traits He longs for in us as His adopted children.
When we understand the plan that God uniquely has set for our lives, we begin to understand all we were meant to be. Knowing Him is the first step to truly know me.
Then our heavenly Father did something unique for the creation of mankind. He gave us the power to “choose”. The power to be anything we desire to be, to do anything we want to do. God desires our desire for Him. He did not create mankind for being a robot to carry out His sovereign rule. He created mankind, Male and Female in His Image for fellowship with Him forever.
Our choices today are in many ways like the choices we have made throughout time. “Choice” did not start in the garden with a piece of forbidden fruit. There were other choices that God provided for us to choose different things, like naming the animals of His creation. He gave them the freedom to choose things within the boundaries of His plan to be whatever they wanted. We do the same thing with our children as they grow and understand how to make good choices that bring good outcomes. But not all choices provide the same outcome or response we desire. The outcome (or consequence) whenever we choose will come naturally whether it is a good choice or a bad choice. It depends on the guiding influences that shape our lives to make the choices we make. This is the heart of the matter…our heart and mind. So, the question becomes what voices influence your life? Next time we’ll consider God’s choice of “choosing” us by adoption… We are HIS, Adopted by God!
