Where Your Heart Is

I guess it all comes down to where your heart is.

It’s there your thoughts and feelings all begin.

For if you never give your heart to Jesus,

You’ll never really have a part with Him.

If your treasures are in heaven, then your heart will be there too,

and the things you say and do will show Christ’s love.

But, if your treasures are here on earth, tell me where your heart will be?

You’ll never have a part in the things above.

If your mind’s set on the Spirit, and you’re walking in God’s light,

Then the watching world will see Christ’s love in you.

But if your mind is set on earthly things, then earthly things you’ll do,

In poverty you’ll live your whole life through.

I guess it all comes down to where your heart is.

It’s there your thoughts and feelings all begin.

But if you never give your heart to Jesus,

You’ll never really have a part with Him.

For a man looks on the outside, only outward things he sees.

He can never look down deep inside your heart.

Only God knows what you think and feel; His eyes are just right there.

He sees you as you’ve been right from the start.

So, I guess it all comes down to where your heart is,

It’s there your thoughts and feelings all begin.

For if you never give your heart to Jesus,

You’ll never really have a part with Him.

So it goes that the God of all creation, Who gave life to the World and everything in it, desires to have an intimate relationship with you. He has made us with everything we will need to succeed in our best life. Yet, what many of us don’t understand is that He also gave us a choice. To choose life with Him or choose life the way you think is best without God. In the end that life, without God, You may succeed in life. But in the end, it will lead to a slow spiral of ultimate death. By the World’s standard you may be successful, you may not. But Life without God will only lead to death.

Choosing our best life for ourselves is not new. You may know that Sin and Death were triggered for all of God’s Creation, for all time at the Fall of Creation with Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve both chose to agree with the Serpent, take what was forbidden, and disobey God.

Today, not much has changed. It still all comes down to where your heart is, and the influences we allow. These influences process into the motives (or the Why?) we live by.

 So who or what influences your mind and heart. These influences will direct your instincts in all you say and do. The choice is ours; it always has been. How will you choose to live going forward? Who will hold your heart?

Choose wisely because your Heart matters.
